Where We Started
Michael started out in 1988 as a Painting and Wallcovering Contractor. Later on Laura became interested in the decorative art field and began her education at The Gale Laurence Studio and Zaffle Painting Studio. What started out as an interest became a passion—a passion for the art and a passion to know more. Both Michael and Laura attended the vocational classes at the Day Studio Workshop and with the knowledge they gained there worked hard on perfecting their art. Between them they now have 24 years experience in the decorative art field. They continue to expand their training, and have done so throughout the United States, and will be continuing further in France and other parts of Europe. This training will enable them to expand their offerings to their clients, keep their ideas fresh, and enable them to bring even more into the classroom.

Publicity
Their artistic adventures have been very successful. They received three separate segments on the Discovery Channel show "The Fix-it Line", which was nationally syndicated, where they had the opportunity to discuss and demonstrate topics on Faux Finishing, Wallcovering, and Paint. They have also been in the San Francisco Chronicle, Palo Alto Weekly and the Oklahoma News for projects they have worked on.

Today
After 5 years in Arizona, Tust Studio is permanently re-located back to San Francisco. January 2008 to the end of April 2008 Michael will be studying with Institut Yannick Guegan in Quimiac, Mesquer, France. He is learning from the top artisan there, and bringing it home to Tust Studio. This will bring their workshops to a new level. They are very happy to bring their studio and art back to the Bay Area. Their heart is in San Francisco. They are always expanding and improving their art, and are very excited to bring it to their clients and students. Look for updates to the gallery of the work done in France. Keep in touch for workshop dates, let us know what you are interested in.
