In Marble 1 Class at Tust Studio, students will create three texture boards that contain up to three textures on each board and are designed to train the hand and eye in positive and negative space, drifts, veins, color and gradation. These techniqes are useful in faux finish marbling. Different tools and brushes will be used. Upon completion of the texture boards students will create panels of the following—White Carrera, Serpentine, Yellow Sienna, Granite, Marble Float. Students will learn how to see the different layers of texture and colors in marble, as well as how to imitate shapes and markings. Students will be instructed on how to choose base coat colors.
