This beautiful Lyon and Healy No 23 Harp came to us. The base had gold paint on top of the water gilding. The gold paint and gold was stripped away back down to the original gesso. The missing gesso pieces were repaired. The dirt was gently cleaned away around the rest of the base, the the 23K gold was water gilded back on to the base and burnished to match the rest of the harp.

This frame was previously gilded, the clear coat was applied over rough leaf, and the gold tarnished under the clear coat. The layers were sanded away and then regilded and clear coated to a bright gold frame.

Another picture of the door area where the stain has been blended away, just waiting to final pasting of the paper for final touch ups.
