In the Graining 2 class at Tust Studio, some of the techniques learned in Graining 1 will be used in this course along with learning and using new techniques, tools and mediums. Some of the mediums that will be introduced are oil, beer and gouache. This course will further expand your Woodgraining skills to a new level. Students will create larger sample panels with inlayed designs of wood. Woods covered in this course are European Oak, Knotty Pine, Thujia Burl, Amboina Burl, Crotch Mahogany, Zebra Wood, Cherry, and Koa. Re-enforcement of the Graining 1 painting of faux wood techniques will be reviewed, and further techniques will be taught during this class.
