The majority of damage to this frame is to one of the decorative details. A mold was made of an undamaged area on the frame. New pieces were made. Prior to putting the new pieces all the pieces were checked to see if they were loose, and they were reglued down. The edge black detail was worn away as well. Along the outer edge there is a crackle gesso finish some bits of it were damaged and missing. The spaces were repaired and filled then blended into the rest of the frame, in the repaired areas the crackle design was hand drawn back to complete the design. The black was repainted with black gesso, and the repairs were blended into to frame finish.
