Richard H Beamer Yol-025-42

The Richard Beamer frame had several damaged areas. Along the edge several pieces of the molding were damaged and missing. The corners were broken which caused the frame to separate to the inner detail moldings. The frame was glued and clamped prior to repairing. The frame was gently cleaned to remove dust and dirt prior to a mold being made of an undamaged area of the missing molding. There was a fair amount of cracking in the inner raised design of the frame which was filled and smoothed with gesso putty. The inner most area of the frame had a walnut chip finish which was flaking off. The flaking walnut chips were secured down and new walnut chips were used to fill in the wide corner connections as well as any missing sections. Once everything had been fixed and replaced, the new areas were blended into the exsiting finish of the frame.
