When this frame was unwrapped it became evident that it was completely falling apart. The outside and inside frames were separated. The outside frame was taken apart and the old nails removed. The frame was reglued and nailed together and the inner frame was replaced. On the courside frame the decorative detail was placed inside a raised track area, it was almost completely missing. New pieces were made and attached. Some of the exisisting decorative molding besides what was already missing, was extremely damaged, so it was removed and replaced with new pieces. New corner pieces were also made. In the inner frame a beaded molding and some egg and dart molding was broken or missing. All new pieces were made. The spaces left when the frame was rebuilt were also filled, Then all the repairs and fills were blended into the existing frame finish. The frame was also gently cleaned.
